2020 Reflections: Pushing On In The Face of Adversity
It would be an understatement to say that 2020 has been a long year filled with challenges. The world had to learn how to stay positive and productive in the face of global pandemic.
Things were no different for Gen Infiniti Academy.
The Circuit Breaker made us realise that while we've been constantly changing through the years, there is still much to improve on.
Many of these improvements are still in the works, but we've fortunately been able to implement some of them in 2020.
New Payment Methods
New payment methods have always been in the pipeline, and we're thrilled that we managed to add PayNow as a new form of payment in 2020.
Yes, PayNow can now be used for all courses!
To use this payment method, select Offline Payment during the registration process; this is available for all courses, including the Wiley Certified Data Analyst and Unity Certified Associate course. More information regarding this payment method will be sent to you via email.
New Course Series
We started 2020 with two courses: the Wiley Certified Data Analyst and the Unity Certified Associate course.
Throughout the year, we've added more options so that you can better meet your learning needs with us.
Dummies Accelerator Courses
After our encounter with a 9-year-old aspiring game developer, we realised that our course catalogue lacked kid-friendly courses for young beginners to pick up tech skills. We thus worked with WILEY to release the world's first ever Dummies endorsed live-instruction classes in 2020.
These cover skills in Python, JavaScript, Mobile App Creation and Web Site Development.
Adult beginners who wish to learn the basics in an easy-to-understand way are welcome to join as well. Launched in December 2020, the Dummies Accelerator Courses will continue to run throughout 2021.
zyBooks Self-Paced Courses
We know that personal and work commitments – especially those intensified by the pandemic – can make it difficult for some to join our live instruction courses.
But upskilling yourself is an essential step to staying relevant in the digital age, and we really believe that these commitments should not stop you from developing a new skill or advancing your career with tech skills.
Our self-paced courses from zyBooks thus aim to solve this issue by giving you the flexibility to learn a new tech skill at your preferred time, pace and place.

New Office
Gen Infiniti Academy was established and, for the last two years, have been operating at our main office at 7 Jurong West Avenue 5.

The building is a 5 minute walk from Jurong East MRT.
In the future, in-person classes in the west will be conducted at this new premise.
We hope you're as excited as we are to have our in-person classes here in 2021!
Don't live in Jurong or the western part of Singapore? Don't worry. We plan to continue offering courses at our other locations, like Singapore Shopping Center at Dhoby Ghaut.
Addressing Our Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic
Its impossible to talk about 2020 without including the impact of COVID-19.
Like many other businesses, Gen Infiniti Academy's operations were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic – in line with the Ministry of Health's advisories in March, all in-person classes, examinations and workshops were conducted online instead.
We won't deny that there were a few hiccups during this period; it was our first time conducting our game development and data analytics classes online, and unfortunately, things weren't as smooth as we would've liked it to be.
Luckily for us, our learners were extremely patient with us throughout the transition, and we cannot thank you enough for your kind understanding, feedback and suggestions during this period.
Now that we've gotten the hang of things, we hope that your learning experience has become equally, if not more enjoyable than it was pre-COVID-19.
